John Richardson2023-07-19Having had acute back pain I visited my local GP's and was referred to Exeter RDE, I had 2 scans and saw a further 3 doctors; none of the total of 5 doctors that examined me could give me a positive diagnosis other than 'you have a back problem' - which was correct! I then visited Heather Foster of East Devon Chiropractic, Heather gave me by far the most thorough and in depth questioning and examination and concluded with 75% certainty that I had damaged my QL muscle (Quadratus Lumborum) which I think runs from the lower rib cage to the top of the pelvis. I asked Heather could she cure the problem - her reply was 'that if I can't in 4-5 treatment sessions then no I can't'. I appreciated this honest opinion and finite time scale; treatment comprising acupuncture, massage and exercises for me to do ensued. After 4 sessions over 4 weeks the problem was nearly 100% resolved, and after the 5th session everything was 100%. I have since recommended Heather to a neighbour who suffers with a severe back problem; after a full assessment - but no treatment, Heather advised my neighbour that she thought that she could not fully resolve the problem. Heather has educated me so much on the connection between my body & my mind & how much stress can affect my physical being. I have learnt so much about being a human & I will always be grateful to her for that. The staff are always friendly & greet you with warmth, kindness & patience. Where I used to be anxious about my pain and my body, I am now excited for my appointments and love my chats with Heather. Birgit2023-05-25I can highly recommend East Devon Chiropractic. Heather is very thorough in her assessment and listens well to the problem presented. Her way of treatment always helped me. She also taught me a series of exercises that I could do between the sessions. The exercises she chose greatly assisted with my recovery. Without a doubt they helped me. I’m totally impressed by the help Heather has given me over the past weeks. I went from pain, to pain free very quickly under her care. She really listens and obviously knows what she’s doing so well that she literally put her fingers on my issue. I didn't realise how much was wrong that I was putting up with - I went for what I thought would be a couple of adjustments and quickly realised how much of a knock-on effect my issue was having with the rest of my spine - Heather is skilled in getting to the root of the problem and has totally sorted me out - I feel the best I have felt in years - like a new person with a really solid, steady feeling frame now - I'd forgotten what it was like!
